![]() The Wondrous Nearer Drew merges the nineteenth century words of New England poet Emily Dickinson with twenty-first century technology. The kaleidoscopic images were created in photoshop from photographs of flowers and hand-lettered lines from Dickinson's poems. I was inspired to create these images by the richness and density of her language. She captured the mystery of the physical world with words that are both crystalline and ambiguous. For me her poems demonstrate an acute and empathetic awareness. They are words to savor and hold, to allow the wonder of the language to echo in the mind.
